Iterchimica has developed a complete line of cold plastic mixes to be used for potholes’ patching in the existing pavements. Other than the ordinary one which provides excellent durability performance thanks to the wise use of Iterchimica additives, there is one fiber-reinforced type suitable for use on pavement with an intense traffic, and a type that uses special lightened aggregates to facilitate laying activities with equal volume.

Moreover there is a revolutionary product that allows to obtain a cold mix starting just from RAP, by adding a suitable additive which is completely cold-applied and without plant (using a pulvimixer or electric concrete mixer). The mix thus obtained can be laid for up to 48 hours after its production, allowing the road maintenance operators to load the material on their own vehicles and continue their activities without the typical rush needed when using the hot mix for maintenance.

In the case of pavements presenting phenomena of surface cracking while maintaining sufficient characteristics of carrying capacity, the sealing of cracks with mastic represents a key intervention to achieve a significant extension of the useful life of the pavement. The mastics developed by Iterchimica allow to obtain this result with reduced costs.

Loss of adherence of the existing pavement

When an existing pavement has good regularity and mechanical characteristics, but has a loss of the adhesion coefficient (skid resistance), it is recommended to perform treatments such as slurry seal or micro-surfacing: in this way, with low costs, the moment when it is necessary to intervene with deep maintenance is pushed back.

The slurry seal consists of a mortar made of very thin bitumen emulsion that is spread by special machines.
